
We pay tribute to W. B. Martin Gross for the years he served the legal community. While the firm (Martin, Craig, Chester & Sonnenschein) MCCS, may only exist in the past, we carry forward the years of service provided to countless clients and friends. W. B. Martin Gross received a B.A. degree cum laude from Amherst College in 1958 and an LL.B. degree from Harvard Law School in 1961. He had been with the firm of MCCS since 1961, and a Partner since 1968. He served as counsel and director of several large corporations. Martin also served as counsel to several public philanthropic organizations, including The AntiCruelty Society, where he served as President. Martin served as Village Attorney for La Grange Park from 1969 to 1997, as a Special Assistant Attorney General Illinois from 1968 to 1969. Martin was privileged to be Special Counsel to the Vice President of the United States from 1967 to 1969. Martin was the President of the Hinsdale School District 181 Board and as Trustee and President of the Village of Hinsdale. Finally, Martin was a member of the American Bar, Illinois Bar, DuPage Bar and Chicago Bar Associations.
